Prescott Hill Project
When the global pandemic paused life for a while in 2020, many people picked up new skills with their “free time.” I was one of those people. I needed something exciting to occupy my time and decided to dive into becoming a Certified Home Staging Professional.
My love for a well done layout did not just start when our lives were flipped upside down in the spring of 2020. It started long ago when I was just a tween. My parents were constantly hearing furniture being moved upstairs in my room and wondered why I was always looking for nails and a hammer. A fresh room and new decor has brought me joy for almost as long as I can remember. So when the opportunity to turn this passion into a profession presented itself, I knew it was something I had to pursue.
Recently, I had the pleasure of taking my skills to a beautiful home and an even more wonderful couple on Old Prescott Hill Road. A change in positions and a move to Connecticut meant this home needed to get on the market as soon as possible and sell fast! Thankfully, a realtor friend of mine knows the added value that having a professional staged home can bring to the table.
Pre-Staging:
In a March 2023 article from the National Association of Realtors, “Nearly half of seller's agents (48%) reported that staging a home decreased its time on market, according to a new report by the National Association of Realtors®. For both buyers' and sellers' agents, one in five (20%) said home staging increased the offer price by between 1% and 5% compared to similar homes on the market that weren't staged.”
With this project, I used majority of the items already owned by the sellers. I focused on improving the flow of each space, removing unnecessary clutter and adding accessories and small furnishings to complete the project.
Post-staging:
My favorite quote from one of the home owners after completing the staging, “we could have been living like this the whole time?”
I am honored to have worked on this project. Onto the next….
